What To Know About Words Of Encouragement
Take a few minutes to read this article if you are trying to help someone who is in pain due to the loss of a loved one, break-up, divorce or what ever type of pain.
Often times we feel like sharing encouraging words to someone who is hurting is not practical. In most cases when youtry to speak encouragement words that someone may decide not to hear a word of what you are trying to communicate.
Regardless of the reaction, every one who is in pain needs to hear motivating words. I can liken sharing such words to planting a seed. It can take several weeks for you to see the seeds germinating but through unswerving watering and a speck of thoughtfulness and fortitude the seed does bring forth its fruits.
Similarly when sharing words of encouragement, never stop simply because you are not getting the reaction you expect. Continue to share some words of encouragement for Christians if you are dealing with a religious person and don’t think twice about it.
It is harder for a fresh wound to show signs of healing on the first day. You just need to understand that and be patient. For some people, the healing process can take weeks, months and even years – depending on the extent of the pain or disappointment.
I have a friend who lost a loved one and spent two years still mourning and crying everyday before going to bed. One day he told me how the positive things we kept saying to him helped hime to move on eventually. Truth is, I had started to give up on him and when he told me how I had helped I was really pleased.
So if ever you feel frustrated and tired of writing an encouragement letter or poem depending on what your loved one need do not ever forget that they are helping him or her to survive through each passing day. Make a pledge today to keep at it until you know for a fact that your friend is over what ever distress and heart ache – this will help you feel like a true angel and it will cause you to receive goodness from others in due cause.
