Getting money as a kid was never easy and it has not changed that much since. I tried to do as many odd jobs around the house as I could. Mostly, I would make the big money by washing the family car. Some of these go getting money lessons have stuck with me since I was a child.

Those lessons still affect my decisions today. I received one dollar for washing the car. That didn’t include waxing the car because I was really bad at that. I didn’t understand that the wax had to be buffed off. The only time I did it, the car was a big white mess of wax. Well I had that dollar for about a day before it went through the wash and was gone forever.

Sometimes when I lose on a stock or fail to see a top forex indicator I feel like I left those dollars in my jeans and they went through the wash. I have put a lot of thought into this lately especially the way gold has been on the rise.

The best forex indicator that I have followed are the Simple Moving Average. I have decided to stay away from bonds definitely because they really give me that through the wash feeling. I am investing in silver. The theory might be a bit strange but I just feel that silver will never just wash away.

Ever since I diversified and included silver in my portfolio I have felt entirely more confident about my future. The things that impressed me most as a child and really drew my attention were made of metal. Cars, planes, trains, they are all heavy, you can hold them in your hand and know they are worth something. Have you ever held a stock certificate? It’s just not the same feeling. It feels weak and insignificant.

I didn’t get away from the neighborhood very much as a kid. We grew up poor and I didn’t do much world travelling. I didn’t even realize until way into college, that there was a whole global experience outside of my little town. It was good for me though I believe. That naive young man learned a lot once he got to college.

It was not until college that I really started to travel. That is when I started understand foreign exchange, currency, forex indicator. I had more of a sense of how the global economy worked. I just never want to have that feeling again of washing a dollar down a drain.
