Don’t Lose Hope, You Can Still Get Taller
Different people have different growth rates at various stages of biological development. The person’s height continuously improves just before the onset of adolescence. Beyond that stage, no increment in height can be expected anymore. But the issue is: a lot of people still want to get taller beyond this stage because they feel that life would be better if only they’re a few centimeters taller.
Tall people are looked up to literally and figuratively because they are endowed not only with height but also greater potentials for success in many fields. It is this orientation that makes everybody want to grow taller—six feet is the standard among men. Among many individuals, it is already a big issue to be a few tad shorter than the ideal.
Although a person’s height does not reflect his real value, the norms prevailing at present is valuing height a lot. Short people are seen by many today as persons bereft of form, and sometimes even of substance. And because their height approximates that of children, they are often not accorded the same regard that is given to tall individuals.
Because of height problem, many short people can’t help but feel inferior when they are in social gatherings. It’s easier for tall people to make friends with others, which is not so among short people. And if you think this is already bad, there is something even worse. Well, nothing could be more difficult than being rejected by a beloved who prefers a person taller than you. The fact is, even in the workplace, short people suffer the same fate—no matter how hard they work, good career opportunities still go to taller ones who find it easier to project more confidently.
With all these dilemmas, you can’t blame short people for wanting and desiring to get taller. Height is not so much of an issue if you have not yet reached adolescence because your growth continuous. And for those who have already reached adulthood, the growth may not be as fast as those in their younger years, but this doesn’t mean the end.
The most important thing to keep in mind is to be healthy and physically fit. Growth is affected by various factors such as proper nutrition, enough water intake, enough sleep, and proper exercise.
Other than good health, proper posture is also crucial to improving your height. Diligently observe an erect posture so that you can benefit from a better height. To get taller, always perform regular physical activities that will help you straighten your backbone and do some yoga as well. These are simple techniques, but they can give you a significant improvement in your height.
