Christian Counseling Debt and The Bible

“Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.”  Matthew 18:27

Is debt biblical? It is not a sin to be in debt but the Bible does speak a lot about being good managers of what we have been given. The greater sin is being too prideful to admit your condition and your current financial condition and seek help or counsel. There are experienced Christian counseling centers to aid with Christian debt elimination. The sooner you can get help the sooner bills and debts can be controlled and brought under control. It is a humbling ordeal to go through, but others share this same experience. We gain from our our life experiences to better serve the Lord and to reinforce our faith. If you have a financial burden do not wait to look for Christian debt counseling services because someday you may be able give spiritual or financial help  to a fellow Christian, friend or co-worker.

We are called to spend wisely. Often times we find ourselves in debt for perfectly legitimate reasons. There could be an illness, rendering you unable to work. In these precarious times, we are seeing more and more people being laid off or hours cut substantially. There are regular monthly payments that are due and we may find we do not enough to pay them. Sometimes credit cards are used to pay bills and the debt begins to build. It can become overwhelming and a a Christian debt counseling solution may be needed.

Pray First

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24

Take all things to the Lord in prayer.  Does this denote everything you pray for will be given to you?  The Lord always answers our prayers, but maybe not in the way we expect or in the same time frame we expect. Jesus prayed when He was on earth.  He prayed while in the wilderness and also he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane.  Jesus prayed that the cup He was about to partake of be taken from Him.  He still had to go through what He was sent to do, die for our sins and transgressions.  We may still have to endure some trials for the situation we are in, but He has promised to take care of us.
