The key difficulty, it needs to be underscored, is that almost everything they do for excitement includes drinking. As an illustration, all of the happy hours, family get-togethers, dinner engagements, sporting events, and parties with friends they spend time at have something to do with drinking.
Sarah and Jerry Begin to See Some Obvious Alcohol Related Difficulties That are Centered On Their Hazardous Drinking
If they were infrequent drinkers, this wouldn’t be a major issue. Given the fact that they drink rather abusively, however, they are beginning to perceive some definite alcohol-related difficulties in their lives.
For example, just five weeks ago Jerry received a second DUI and has been leaving early from work due to alcohol-related health issues. In addition, Jerry’s last two or three performance evaluations at his place of employment have been less than acceptable and he has started to fail to remember what he says or does the times that he drinks. As a final point, Jerry has been experiencing sleep-related problems and his family has begun to get apprehensive about his drinking situation.
Not unlike Jerry’s situation, Sarah has been feeling unhappy about things in her life and to deal with these feelings, she has been drinking more repeatedly than any time in the past four years. Not only this, but Sarah has been getting more than a few migraine headaches and experiencing dreadful hangovers due to her drinking. Lastly, Sarah has been feeling notably less active when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late virtually every Monday, and she has been getting some cruel criticism from her family members, friends, relatives, and coworkers about her hazardous drinking.

And both Jerry and Sarah have been concerned about how their problem drinking has resulted in affairs and spirituality and sexuality difficulties. In point of fact, they became mindful of the fact that issues like these can, and do damage relationships and marriages.
Watching the TV and Stumbling Upon A Special Program About the Signs of Alcohol Dependency
One Wednesday evening while watching TV, Jerry and Sarah happened upon a documentary about the signs of alcoholism.
This television program was a real eye opener to Sarah and Jerry because more than a few of the alcoholism signs that were talked about appeared as if they were indubitably associated with many of the alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been going through.
A Frank Talk About Drinking Circumstances Uncovers Alcohol Related Legal, Employment, Health, Financial, and Relationship Problems
After watching the television program, Sarah and Jerry made up their minds to have a frank conversation about their drinking behavior. They both concurred that most, if not all, of their social pursuits were associated with drinking, that they were drinking irresponsibly, and that as a couple, they were beginning to make note of alcohol related relationship, employment, financial, legal, and health problems for the first time since they were married.
With thoughts of the TV program still fresh in her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcoholism signs they have been exhibiting could be a signal that they are alcohol dependent or maybe becoming dependent on alcohol. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s question and so he recommended that they make an appointment with one of the doctors at the nearby substance abuse rehabilitation facility to find out more about the seriousness of their drinking situation.
Attending To Your Drinking Difficulties Might Lower Your Nervousness and Give You Some Tranquility
Ironically, although their drinking situation hadn’t yet changed, it was evident that Sarah and Jerry were at the very least concentrating on their drinking issues, they were eager to find out more about their drinking situation, and they were concerned about how they could substantially decrease or eliminate the drinking-related issues that had started to get worse. Not only this, by dealing with their abusive drinking, Jerry and Sarah discovered how to remove themselves from marital conflict by becoming better marital partners and friends.
When Sarah and Jerry went to bed that night, they came to a decision that the next afternoon, Jerry would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol abuse rehab center located just South of the State Capital. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to rise above the drinking problems that had manifested themselves in their lives, they truly had the most energizing night’s sleep they could bring to mind in the last four weeks.
Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and remarked how effortless it is to lessen one’s trepidation and truly experience a sense of calm by attending to one’s problems straight on and choosing to do something affirmative about them.
